Take a look behind the scenes

It all starts with paper. Graph paper to be exact— and a big shout out to our junior developer, Rae, for including those sweet, sweet rounded corners in the mockups :P

Once the design team starts busting out the graph paper, you know something good is cookin'!

From there, all we really had to do was have our development team code it, which was by far the easiest part of this project. Just look what our CTO, Gurkaran Poonia had to say about it:

"The sales and marketing team just kept saying it was so easy to code. I don't think they know how computers work..." - Gurkaran, CTO

All kidding aside, our development team really stepped up and created a beautiful scheduling tool, from the original concept right through to where you see it today.

So what can I do with this thing?

Good question! There's a whole host of ways we make scheduling easier than ever, so let me run you through some quick highlights, and then you can dive in yourself!

Simple Creation

We take the guess work out of creating your ongoing role. You can create a general shift (think Monday mornings), be specific about it (can you come in at 2pm this Wednesday?), or skip this step and leave it up to you and your volunteer to figure out the perfect day!

Availability

Part of making your life easier means seeing when your volunteers are available at a quick glance. Need someone for Sunday morning? Simply filter your list of approved volunteers to easily see that.that Regina is available to help, and from there just slot her into a time. She gets notified immediately and you have a volunteer ready to show up. Try doing that in a spreadsheet... actually please don't, your volunteers will thank you!

Track Hours

Once you have volunteers showing up regularly, you'll want a way for both you and your volunteers to keep track of how often they show up for your cause. We've built in hour tracking so that you not only see a volunteers hours, but the volunteer can see what skills they're developing and how many hours they've put into it! A win-win for volunteers and coordinators!
